Administrative Leadership Award
The purpose of this award is to honor administrators with direct
responsibility for a school or group of schools who have made influential,
unique and sustained contributions to effective school library programs,
furthering the integral role of the library media programs in elementary
and/or secondary schools. Traditionally, administrators have been nominated
by library media teachers working in the same district. Click

Honorary Membership Award
The Honorary Membership Award recognizes retired members of the Association
who have made outstanding contributions to school library programs and
the Association over a sustained period of time. The Honorary
Membership Committee publicizes and solicits nominations throughout
the year and tries to make the nomination process an easy one. Individual
active members may submit nominations. No more than three Honorary Memberships
are awarded each year. Recognition of the Honorary Member is made at the

Innovation Award Sponsored by Highsmith
The Innovation Award, sponsored by Highsmith, Inc., provides $1,000 for
a school library in California that has an exemplary program which demonstrates
the role that a school library plays in fostering learning.
In order to qualify, the library must be staffed by a full-time, on-site CSLA member who is credentialed to work as a library media teacher. The award is granted to the library for the purchase of materials or equipment to continue the exemplary program. The library media teacher is recognized at the annual CSLA conference. Leadership for Diversity Award by World Book
The purpose of the CSLA Leadership for Diversity Award, sponsored by World
Book, is to recognize an elementary or secondary Teacher Librarian who
has facilitated a lesson or project in collaboration with a classroom
teacher that promotes multicultural literature or media and emphasizes
diversity in any curricular area. The award of $1000 will be used to purchase
materials for the winner’s school library media center. Click

Presidents' Award Sponsored by DEMCO
The CSLA Presidents' Award is a $1,000 award funded by DEMCO, Inc. and
presented to an outstanding library media teacher selected by the State,
Northern, and Southern section presidents. The award money may be applied
to transportation, lodging, conference registration fees, and incidental
expenses.
Nominations may be made by library peers, administrators, teachers, or by the nominee himself or herself. This is award is to honor an individual who, through the library program, directly affects students and teachers. Presidents' Award Click here for the 2008 application.
Technology Award Sponsored by Follett Software
The purpose of the California School Library Association Technology
Award is to recognize a CSLA member who is credentialed for School Library
Media Services, working at the site level, and who is making a significant
contribution to the use, promotion, and integration of educational technology
with the teaching program. Educational technology is acknowledged to be
a powerful learning and teaching tool when used with curriculum to research
or present information. This award will honor the Library Media Teacher
who performs this responsibility in an exemplary manner and includes a
cash stipend of $1000. Click

Good Ideas!
Good Ideas! Newsletter contains compelling ideas for administrators,
teachers, the PTA, and the school board. It is sent to all CSLA members,
as well as school administratiors in California. It is published once
a year (in the fall) by the Curriculum Committee of CSLA, whose mission
is to provide leadership to ensure that California educators and students
are effective users of ideas and information. To nominate (or self-nominate)
