General Session - Friday

General Session I
Opening Session
Friday, November 16th
8:00–9:30am

Paul B. Janeczko
As seen in his anthology The Place My Words Are Looking For, “Finding poems comes naturally to [Paul] Janeczko, who has created numerous poetry anthologies, written several volumes of his own poetry, and has, for [many years], run poetry workshops for schools throughout the country.” In over twenty books and publications, “each anthology is a distinctive invention — or re-invention. In each book Janeczko has broken ground, carefully crafting thematic units, finding new poems that speak to adolescents' ears, or inspiring students to read and write,” writes fellow poet Naomi Shihab Nye.

How exciting it is for us in CSLA to feature a poet and anthologist who so uniquely and insightfully brings creativity through poetry to young people — our clients! You can’t miss this opportunity to be enraptured and entertained by this current literary leader.

CSLA thanks Bound To Stay Bound for their generous support in sponsoring Paul Janeczko’s presentation. CSLA also thanks DEMCO for Paul Janeczko’s travel arrangements.

Presentations at this session include the Innovation Award (sponsored by Highsmith), the CSLA President’s Award (sponsored by DEMCO), and the Technology Award (sponsored by Follett Software).

CSLA Sustaining Members will be recognized and the 2007-2008 State Executive Board will be installed.
